The developer of the HomeTown Hearth & Grill® concept, Gas Connection, Inc., began as a propane delivery service and gas appliance retailer in the Pacific Northwest. In 1998, they joined forces with Suburban Propane, L.P. (NYSE:SPH), one of the largest, oldest and most respected propane companies in the United States. Suburban Propane also is an affiliate of Suburban Franchising, Inc., the franchisor of the HomeTown Hearth & Grill concept.

Suburban Propane began in 1928 with the vision of providing gas appliance service to rural homeowners in the Northeast. In 1945 when the Suburban Propane Gas Corporation was formed, that commitment to filling customer needs was strengthened.

A new franchise concept is born

Today, the HomeTown Hearth & Grill retail presence continues to expand into key markets. In 2001, Suburban Franchising was created to offer franchise opportunities for individual entrepreneurs. HomeTown Hearth& Grill, along with a propane cylinder delivery service, Suburban Cylinder Express, became the first two opportunities offered by Suburban Franchising.
